An idol competition! Maybe they're in the same group (or a duo) or in rival groups.

Could be more in-line with the competitions seen in Love Live (more akin to actual music competition events) or similar to the competitions seen in the Pretty Series (usually year-long competitions with multiple tournaments held with the goal of finding the 'top' idol. Less realistic, basically.)
