“There’s someone following us,” Takina says idly.

“He’s six,” Chisato laughs, pulling her down the corridor. “Come on, I told you this would be fun!”

Takina, who has never been inside a museum in her life, stares at the back of her head as she jogs behind her. “What are we supposed to do?”

“Well, there’s modern history upstairs,” Chisato points to a staircase at the top of the corridor, “and fossils and things to the left, but what I want to show you is in the art gallery. How have you never been to a museum before?”

“Wasn’t any time,” Takina says distractedly. Chisato has started pulling her towards the fossil door, and she’s still not used to the feeling of another hand in her own, guiding her onward. There wasn’t a lot of affectionate hand-grabbing before LycoReco.

“You’re missing out on so much,” Chisato says emphatically. “I can’t believe I get to show you statues.”

“I know all about this museum’s collection of Greek art. I did some preliminary research beforehand,” Takina starts. Chisato gasps loudly.

“Pictures really don’t compare to the real things, Takina. You have to, like, slow down and appreciate the fine detail, and other things Mika says. Look, we’re almost there.”

She pulls her sideways through a different door and weaves the two of them through a gathering crowd of people around a space exhibit. They lose their six-year-old tail somewhere in the mix.
