The OC on the left was designed by my friend, erycazh, for me. I made a few slight changes to their appearance. They're technically my pokemon persona but idk much about pokemon.
Spider looks like a human with spider characteristics, multiple eyes and bug limbs? (attached to her back)
The player character in the visual novel had no appearance so I just used my OC.
Also fun fact: picking female as the player character's gender gives an extra Spider love heart (she prefers girls omg?!)

Date: 2025-05-27 11:07 am (UTC)“Me neither,” Lenora breathed, her face contorted from the pain she must’ve been in. Her injury, which was supposed to be a simple bullet wound, was angry red and seemingly infected, with black pus coming out of it. There should’ve been no way for it to get infected so quickly. They’d only just shot her.
“I don’t know what to do,” Isadora admitted. “I have some water… I can try to wash it out. I think they tampered with their bullets. Maybe they’re using some sort of new bio-weapon. I don’t know. I genuinely don’t know. We need to get that bullet out to inspect it and hopefully find an answer.”
“Don’t waste your water on me,” Lenora said. “Just— Just get the bullet out. I’ll drag myself back to base afterwards and they’ll wash it out for me.”
Isadora nodded. She tore off a strip of her shirt and held it up to Lenora’s face. “Bite down on this. It’s likely gonna hurt.”
“Just do what you gotta do,” she said. “Don’t be deterred by the screams.” With that, she bit down on the fabric, squeezing her eyes shut.
Isadora put two fingers in the wound, ignoring the way it pulsated around her. Lenora groaned in pain as she dug around in there, forcing even more of the pus to the surface. Soon, she found what she was looking for — the tip of her fingers brushed against the cold metal of the bullet, and she grabbed it, trying to yank it out in one fell swoop.
But it didn’t budge.
“What the…” She yanked again, and Lenora screamed into her makeshift gag. The bullet didn’t move. “Why isn’t it… I don’t get it…”
“I can feel it moving,” Lenora said through gritted teeth. “The bullet is moving. I think it’s alive.”
“You’re delirious. How would a bullet be alive?” But when she yanked on it for a third time, she managed to pull it out just far enough to see that the bullet had tentacles. Little, black appendages that were undeniably holding onto Lenora’s wound. Isadora almost retched at the sight, but she was present enough to get out her dagger and cut whatever little limbs the ‘bullet’ had. When she then tried to throw it away, she was horrified to see that it had now latched onto her hand. “Get off me!” she shrieked. “What is this?”
Lenora spat out the rag from her mouth and grabbed the bullet clinging to Isadora’s hands, mercilessly ripping it off and throwing it onto the ground. She took her own knife and put it through whatever bug or creature that was, finally stopping it from wriggling around. Whatever that was, it used to be alive.
“What are they shooting at us with…?” Isadora asked, horrified.
“I don’t know,” Lenora said quietly. “But it’s dangerous. I’m taking this one back to base, and hopefully they can tell us more once they’ve had a look at it.”

WC: 606
Furina hums a cheery tune as she strolls the temporary boardwalk constructed for the Chevalmarin Film Fantasyland. Clorinde moves silently ahead of Furina to clear a path through the crowd, as is her habit. Overwhelming as the noise is, she must admit they chose a lovely setting – sunlight sparkles over the surface of the sea, transforming each crest of seafoam into dazzling glitter, and the colorful decorations around the pier combined with Fontaine's natural beauty will make the flagship festival an event to remember.
The murmur of the tides meeting the shore form a backdrop beneath blaring music and the buzz of the crowd. Tourists gather in small groups, planning their trip around the amusement park, or gossiping about the themed venues they've frequented already. Furina pretends not to notice each time her fans recognize her and squeal to each other, even though it makes her jump every time she hears her name.
It's harder to ignore when Clorinde's thunderous glare intimidates said fans into scattering.
“Clorinde,” Furina complains, tugging at Clorinde's uniform sleeve. “I didn't invite you here to be my bodyguard, did I? Stop scaring everyone!”
“Apologies, my Lady,” Clorinde replies, looking and sounding entirely unapologetic. Quietly she returns her pistol to its holster. “Old habit.”
Furina smiles, looping her arm around Clorinde's elbow to hug her closer. “Take me back to Mellow Manor! I want to pet the animals.”
“Again?” Clorinde arches an eyebrow, stoic expression revealing nothing. “You already pet the Blubberbeasts earlier...”
“This is a date, isn't it?” Furina affects an exaggerated pout and stamps her foot. “I want to meet Monsieur Capybara, and he was asleep when we went earlier! Let's go!”
“Very well, Lady Furina,” Clorinde says with a gallant bow. “Follow me.”
Clorinde expertly weaves them through throngs of people, with Furina clinging tightly to her arm every step of the way. She doesn't often have the luxury of reverting to her bratty Archon persona these days, but Clorinde is one of the few who will indulge her regardless of her childish attitude.
She thinks Clorinde probably knows it's the facade she defaults to when she's nervous. Privately, she's grateful that Clorinde never presses for reasons.
For all her bravado, Furina does still feel unexpected pangs of anxiety when facing large groups of people alone. It's been difficult for her to shed the visceral, sickening sensation of the crowd turning against her during that fateful trial. She's avoided the spotlight directly since, turning down acting roles in favor of writing and directing, but it's a complicated tightrope to navigate. Furina craves the approval and adoration of her audience, but in equal measure, is terrified of what will become of her when she fades out of the public eye.
How shallow it all sounds, this fragile, self-centered ego! Clap and cheer for the star of the show, lest she starve for attention and turn to dust!
“My Lady,” Clorinde interrupts softly.
“Yes?” Furina looks up, plastering a silly smile over whatever expression she inadvertently showed.
“Your capybara awaits,” Clorinde replies, gesturing with a wide sweep of her arm. The petting zoo area fenced off at the far end of the beach, home to fat and happy slimes, shroomkin, and other furred and feathered friends, lays before them. Children swarm around a serene and unbothered capybara, petting him with sticky hands and shrieks of laughter. Clorinde looks Furina, hand on her pistol, as she deadpans, “Would you like me to clear the way?”
Furina bursts into startled giggles, waving her off. “No, no, my dear Clorinde, don't frighten the little ones. I can wait my turn.”
“As you wish.”

“Isadora…” Lenora repeated in awe, turning back towards the mermaid. “Did you guys name her? Or did she tell you her name? Can she talk?”
The staff member — Colin, according to their name tag — chuckled. “She can talk alright. She spews the most vitriolic stuff you’ve ever heard whenever her head’s above water. She’s really mad that we managed to capture her.” She threw a fish into the tank, and Isadora didn’t move a fin. She just watched as the dead animal sank to the bottom of her enclosure.
“I was gonna ask… Isn’t it better for mermaids to be out in the ocean or something? This tank seems… I don’t wanna be rude or anything, or question what you guys are doing here, but it seems a little small for her.”
“This was as big as we could make it.” Colin shrugged. “She has plenty of space, she’s just refusing to use it out of spite. Not our problem.”
Lenora frowned. Colin didn’t seem like they cared a lot for Isadora’s comfort. They threw in a couple more fish then left, leaving her alone with the mermaid.
“Can you hear me?” she asked, putting a hand up against the wall of the tank. “Can you read my lips?” Isadora seemed focused on her, but there was no way to tell whether she could actually understand her. “Do you want to go back to the ocean?”
That seemed to get a reaction out of her. Her eyes widened a little, and after some careful consideration, she floated towards her. ‘The ocean?’ she mouthed, and Lenora nodded. ‘Yes.’
Lenora looked around to make sure there were no other staff members, then looked back at Isadora. “I don’t like this place. I’m going to try to sneak into the ‘staff only’ room, the one connected to the top of your tank. That way we can talk out of the water.”
Isadora nodded and swam up to the surface. Lenora looked around one last time, then snuck to the door labelled ‘for employees only’. She turned the doorknob — thankfully, it was unlocked — leading to a staircase. She closed the door behind herself and hurried up the steps, finding herself in a humid room with a half-out-of-water Isadora leaning on the floor. “Just so you know, I don’t trust humans,” she said, narrowing her eyes. “What reason would you have for getting me back to my home?”
She was so… pretty, in a terrifying way. “I just want to help,” Lenora said gently, slowly nearing the tank. “You seem awfully unhappy in here.”
“No human would ever care about that. All they care about is watching me swim back and forth for their entertainment. All they know is how to bang on the glass to annoy me endlessly.”
Lenora shook her head. “I’m here to help. Really.”
Isadora tilted her head to the side. “Well, then lay out your plan for getting me out. I’m listening.”

ship: winter/cinder and a little bit of ruby/weiss/penny
-
It’s not really a secret that Weiss and Cinder dislike each other, but Winter had thought they would at least try to get along for her sake. She dispelled that notion about fifteen minutes into the inaugural Schnee-Rose-Polendina game night.
She leaves the living room at some point under the guise of helping Whitely prepare more refreshments. It’s not that she minds their bickering — she would rather they were competitive, as opposed to actively violent — but there’s only so many detailed threats to the safety of her loved ones that she can take before it stops being amusing.
Whitley raises an eyebrow at her when she makes it to the kitchen. “I thought you’d last longer than Penny.”
“I don’t think she minds,” Winter says. “Where’s Ruby?”
“She got a call from Yang.”
“Ah. Should we tell them to tone it down?”
“No, really,” Whitley says, jerking his chin to the hallway outside the kitchen. “I think Yang got bored and went on a mission.”
“Oh.” Winter reaches for a mug, grimacing. “Well, I’m glad she’s having fun.”
“Little bit too much fun, by the sound of it.”
The last time Winter tried to do anything friendly with Yang, she blew a hole in a wall. It was more amusing at the time. “I can’t say I’m surprised. Are you — enjoying yourself?”
He huffs. “It is entertaining, yes.”
“It is,” she agrees. “I had no idea Weiss was this competitive.”
“You raised us, didn’t you?”
“Good point.”
Someone in the living room bursts into startled laughter. Winter pauses to listen and hears Weiss say, “I still don’t trust you, but —”
“Oh, the feeling is very much mutual —”
“ — you know what, my sister likes you so you can’t be all that bad.”
She glances over her shoulder. Whitley shrugs.
“I can very much be that bad,” Cinder says. Her prosthetic arm clicks against the glass table; she must be drumming her fingers in thought.
“If you ever hurt her again I’ll break your kneecaps,” Weiss says conversationally. Cinder huffs a laugh.
“If I ever hurt her again I’ll help you do that.”
“I don’t understand,” Penny says, enthusiastic, “is this a shovel talk? Do I have to give Cinder a shovel talk too?”
Weiss laughs. “If you feel like it.”
“Hey!”
“Understood!”
Winter takes this as her cue to come back in. Whitley presses the mug she came for — still empty — into her hands before she leaves the kitchen, and she rolls her eyes at him before she pushes open the door. “What are we talking about?”
Cinder kicks Weiss’s leg under the table. “Popsicle here is finally making threats she can follow through on.”
“Are you calling me short?”

Date: 2025-05-26 03:33 pm (UTC)Notes: i think it would be cheating to write about battle royale yuri for a battle royale prompt (+ i've yet to read the lesbian spinoff manga). have a tatsuya fujiwara throughline instead
When Light clutches at her arms and tells her that they'll make it through this together, Shiori believes him. She's never had a reason to doubt him. Even now, in the Battle Royale, he's as dependable as ever. If anyone were to make it to the end, it would be him.
And that's true. Light's going to make it. Alone.
Shiori presses on her bullet wound, the blood gushing out and staining her uniform shirt. Naomi had been aiming at Light, but she hadn't expected him to use Shiori as a human shield. Shiori hadn't, either. Naomi hadn't had time to stop the gun, nor time to respond before Light leapt forward and stabbed her in the heart.
Without looking back, Light had grabbed the gun and fled, leaving Shiori bleeding out on the forest floor. All alone, with naught but a broken promise and a bleeding heart. Literally.
Shiori chokes on a sob. Or blood. She should have expected this. Light had been acting weird ever since they were dropped off on the island, becoming increasingly irate and paranoid. Nothing like the cool-headed lawyer-to-be she fell in love with. But it was easy to write that off as due to their current situation. She just hadn't thought it'd lead to this.
It's becoming increasingly hard to think. Shiori slumps over, head spinning from blood loss. She isn't going to make it. She's going to die here, alone, thousands of kilometres from her loved ones. What kind of cruel punishment was this? What had she ever done, but love Light Yagami?
‘Light Yagami… I should've known you were an asshole the first time you showed up to middle school contemporary literature reading Nietzsche in german.’
Her eyes shut.
Shiori does not expect to wake up ever again.
She certainly doesn't expect to wake up in the school idol Misa Amane’s lap.
One blink, to confirm she's alive. Another to confirm that it's Misa’s face looking down at her. Another life-confirmation blink.
“Do you have something in your eye?” Misa titters. It is an embarrassing thing to be asked. Shiori quickly scrambles away, but only manages to fall onto a hard floor. From above, Misa laughs at her. “You're like a newborn foal.”
Similarly, it is an embarrassing thing to be told. If Shiori’s side weren't aching, she might have let herself actually be embarrassed. But her gunshot wound comes first. Avoiding Misa’s gaze, she sits up and tentatively checks her side. Through her school shirt, she can feel bandages. Someone must have patched her up.
“Oh! That was me!” Misa chirps, “I found you basically half-dead, so I brought you to my secret cabin and stitched you back up!
“You do know this is a competition, right? You should've left me for dead.” Shiori sneers back. She doesn't mean to be cruel, but it doesn't make much sense for Misa to save her. It wasn't as if they were close- Misa had a crush on her boyfriend after all. “What, you wanna use me to get close to Light? Hate to break it to you, but he's the reason why I nearly died.”
Misa hums. She moves to sit on the ground next to Shiori. “I know. I saw you and Misora.”
Oh great, Misa had been watching. She was probably stalking Light again.
“Misora had been acting weird, so I followed her to make sure she-”
Shiori sighs. “Drop the act. Everybody knows your favourite hobby is stalking Light. What point are you trying to make?’
“I didn't- I thought-” Misa trails off, clutching at her skirt. “I just didn't think Light would…”
“That makes the two of us. But I guess it's survival of the fittest now.” Shiori manages something akin to a laugh, but it just aggravates her bullet wound.
“No, I… I think he killed Rem.”
That gives Shiori pause. Rem was the strongest girl in the class, possibly even the strongest person altogether. Light getting the jump on her seemed near impossible- it would've made more sense if she was taken out by someone stronger like Ryuk, or someone (she can admit this now) smarter like Lawliet. If it's true… even someone like Misa couldn't forgive Light for killing her best friend.
“So you want to get revenge? That's why you saved me?”
Misa’s head shoots up. “No! I mean, yes, that was part of it, but I couldn't just leave you there. My parents…”
Right. Her whole family died from gunshot wounds. Shiori probably wouldn't be alive right now if they didn't, or if Naomi got any other weapon in her pack.
As much as she hates to admit it, she's indebted to Misa. If it means Light won't leave the island scot free… “If you do want revenge, I’ll help.”
It's Misa’s turn to be surprised. “Really? But I thought you didn't like me.”
The girl had always come off as ditzy, but she's surprisingly perceptive. And not as much as a doormat as Shiori had believed, apparently. “I don't. But right now, I hate my ex boyfriend a lot more.”
At that, Misa squeals (???) and wraps Shiori in a hug. “Oh, thank you, thank you! You won't regret it! We'll take Light down and get out, the two of us!”
Somehow, Shiori almost believes it. Maybe she's just as naive as before.

Ship: Blake Belladonna/Pyrrha Nikos
Fandom: RWBY
WC: 352
Additional tags: Referenced past major character death, Canon-Divergent, Blake needs a hug, set in Volume 6
“You two were close.”
It wasn’t a question, and Yang didn’t pose it as one.
Still, Blake answered, “Yeah… we were.”
Yang didn’t say anything for a long moment, just let the words hang in the air between them as Blake stared at her scroll, at the photo of her and Pyrrha shining from it’s screen. They looked so young. So… light.
It had been taken just after they’d both aced Oobleck’s test on Faunus history, Blake had dragged Pyrrha into the hall and they shared a kiss just before the rest of the class had let out.
In her fervor, she hadn’t noticed Ruby follow them until they’d broken apart. Later she bribed her leader with a cookie to send her the picture and not tell anyone.
“Is that why you ran?” Yang asked, finally. There was a heaviness to her voice that was unfamiliar to Blake, yet still caused her stomach to twist with guilt.
“In… part,” Blake’s eyes slid to Yang’s prosthetic, and bile rose in her throat, which she quickly swallowed. “I’m sorry.”
“I know,” Yang shifted slightly closer to Blake, but the space between them still felt like a yawning chasm. After the way she’d left, Blake wasn’t sure if she would ever be able to mend that gap.
Then the unexpected happened.
Yang rested her hand on Blake’s, prompting grief-stricken amber eyes to meet gentle lilac.
“Tell me about her,” said Yang. “What was she like?”
And Blake did. She told Yang everything. Everything that she’d been carrying since the Fall of Beacon. All the memories, all the grief, all the love that no longer had anywhere to go.
Yang hung on to every words, sometimes offering a comment, or a smile, or a joke, and eventually, Blake was smiling too, as though a weight had finally been lifted off her chest.
Later that night, they found the statue of Pyrrha that Jaune had said he found. Yang stood back quietly, her presence grounding Blake as she approached the larger than life representation of the girl she had adored, and laid a lily on the pedestal.

It wasn’t the first time Lenora had seen a vampire. They were actually quite common in this part of town, hence why they were open until the wee hours of the morning. There was no reason to deny one of the bloodsuckers a nice, warm cup of coffee.
“You’re starving,” Lenora concluded, stepping out from behind the counter and walking right up to the vampire. “Here,” she said, pulling the collar of her uniform aside. “Drink up.”
The vampire didn’t need to be told twice. She immediately pounced, sinking her two pointed fangs right into Lenora’s neck. She winced at the pain but stayed still as the vampire drank, only pushing her away when she was starting to feel faint.
“That’s enough of that,” she said with a chuckle. The vampire wiped the remaining blood from her lips, then licked it off the back of her hand. “Are you feeling any better?”
The vampire looked way less feral than when she’d first seen her. Her eyes were back to a normal colour, and she stood a little straighter. “Why did you help?” she asked quietly.
“Company policy,” Lenora said, pointing to a sign overhead that said ‘FIRST ORDER OF BLOOD IS ON THE HOUSE’. The vampire’s eyes widened in shock.
“I— I didn’t even see that—”
Lenora smiled. “No feral vampire stops to read signs. But we put it up anyway. What’s your name? Can I interest you in a cup of coffee, now that you’re not starving? We also serve delicious chocolate chip cookies.”
“Isadora,” she said, still a little dazed. “Um… A cup of coffee sounds nice, I guess, uh… Can I ask, what happens when two vampires stumble in here in a night? You can’t possibly be letting each and every one of us drink from you.”
“Oh, no, I usually serve the pre-packaged blood we get from the hospital,” she said easily. “I don’t usually offer my neck. That’d be dangerous.”
Isadora looked even more confused. “So why— Why did you offer your neck now?”
Lenora’s smile widened. “Why, we rarely get any cute vampires in here. I had to jump on the opportunity.”

“Marry you? Nah. Doesn’t sound very fun to me.”
Crown Princess Caitlyn, Future Queen of the Realm of Piltover, Mistress of Its Skies and Seas, Heir to the Kiramman Line and Its Fortunes, glowered at her bodyguard.
Vi, Head Knight, Mistress of Not Even a Last Name, Heir to Nothing at All, glowered right back.
“I’m not suggesting it because I think it’ll be fun,” Princess Caitlyn snapped. “But it’s a smart move. The queen wants to give the people something to celebrate.” As if she couldn’t refer to her own mother by name, only by title.
Vi rolled her eyes. “Not only would no one believe it, but trust me, no one would celebrate.”
Princess Caitlyn smoothed her fine gown with both hands, head high even as her painted lips pressed together in thought. Translation: she was nervous. Vi hated that she spent enough time at the princess’s side to know her tics.
“The throne would make it worth your while,” Princess Caitlyn tried again, and this time the fear slipped into her voice. “Whatever you asked, within our capabilities, you’d get. You would be set for life. Money, property. Tuition for the Arcane Academy for your sister, even. She’s good enough to get in.”
That hit home, though Vi kept her expression thunderous and unfazed. She hadn’t thought the princess knew why Vi worked all the extra hours, took promotion after promotion even though she didn’t care about the Piltover Knighthood. Certainly she hadn’t thought Princess Caitlyn cared.
Princess Caitlyn didn’t care, Vi reminded herself. This was just another arrow in her quiver, a tool to get what she wanted.
And Vi opened her mouth to tell the princess where she could stuff her stupid suggestion, but what came out instead was “Don’t talk about Powder. You don’t know her.”
Princess Caitlyn arched a fine, dark brow. “Of course not. I don’t know how she suffers under the shadow of war and her own mind. I don’t know that she has applied to the Academy scholarship thrice and been rejected every time. I don’t know the nights she sneaks out and disappears over the Zaun border.” Princess Caitlyn met Vi’s gaze with something very close to triumph in her ocean-blue eyes. “What don’t I know, exactly?”
Was this a threat? Vi’s hands curled into fists. “You can’t—”
“All I ask,” Princess Caitlyn said primly, “is a big wedding. Something the whole kingdom can come together for. Then I’ll even retire you from the knighthood if you like. Set you up with an expansive estate.” The anxiety was gone. She knew she’d won.
“As long as it’s far away from you,” Vi spat.
Princess Caitlyn said nothing, but she nodded.
Vi scowled. Flexed her fingers. “Fine. Powder’s tuition. And yeah, a country estate with land, and a hundred thousand gold. Per year.” She expected Princess Caitlyn to bargain.
She didn’t. “You’ll have it.”
To be safe: “And I never have to see you again. We’re married on paper and that’s it.”
A brief hesitation. Then: “Agreed.” Princess Caitlyn sliced the edge of her hand over her heart in the Piltover promise. That was worth little to Vi—but then magic hummed in the action, sparkling indigo in the air. A vow spell. It made the gesture as binding as the paperwork itself.
In shock, Vi mirrored the motion, feeling like she was slicing her heart open in truth. The princess’s magic buzzed against Vi’s skin.
The deal was sealed.
Vi’s stomach twisted.
“We’ll sign the engagement papers this afternoon, and tonight we’ll start your lessons on court etiquette…” Princess Caitlyn continued to talk, walking Vi through the process of the engagement, the requirements of being a royal’s (false) partner, and Vi struggled not to vomit.
She was going to marry the crown princess of Piltover. In name only, and they would be apart as soon as the wedding ended, but still. Gods. Vi might not live in Zaun anymore, but she’d never thought she’d willingly attach herself to a spoiled Piltovan, much less the future queen.
She was almost certainly going to regret agreeing to this, but if it got her sister into the Academy, maybe this bargain would be worth it.
***
Caitlyn had only been doing as she’d been instructed.
Her mother, Queen Cassandra of Piltover, had told her to make herself useful to the kingdom, to employ the one thing she was good for: being of a marriageable age. The implication was always to find a Piltovan aristocrat, keep everything in the realm, but given the tensions with Zaun… Caitlyn had thought maybe a former Zaunite with a history with the people was a better call. Consider it a liaison, she’d told the queen. A political alliance without the foreign influence concerns that would come with marrying an actual aristocrat.
It didn’t hurt that Caitlyn rather liked Head Knight Vi, though that was something of a secret.
Her mother had allowed her to try, clearly assuming that Vi would never agree. But now Vi had agreed, under the venomous condition that she could spend the rest of her life never laying eyes on Caitlyn again.
Caitlyn hadn’t realized Vi hated her so much.
Granted, Caitlyn wasn’t the best at things like picking up social cues and making casual conversation. So maybe that was on her, the not-realizing. But it hurt, somehow, that the head knight despised her so deeply, even if she had agreed to marry her for convenience (and one hundred thousand gold per annum).
Not just the head knight. Vi. It was Vi who hated her. They weren’t friends, sure, but Caitlyn hadn’t thought they were enemies. Yet the unexpected disgust in Vi’s eyes at the idea of being attached to Caitlyn permanently… It had made bile rise in the back of Caitlyn’s throat.
Was Caitlyn such a bitter prize?
No matter. She straightened, smoothing her gown from neckline to the first flare of skirt. She would get through this, through the pretending and the knowing Vi hated her. And when it was all done, she would send her new wife off to a better life and leave herself utterly alone in a court she didn’t fit into.
But Caitlyn had survived this long. She’d be fine.
At least that was what she told herself.
