(OCs) oh man this is probably the most immediately inspired ive felt seeing a prompt lmaoo.



the background plot i've imagined here:
johnson (left, age 35) married young to a rich man under pressure from her family. a few years ago, he got mildly sick, and she took the opportunity to start subtly poisoning him so that he couldnt stop her from doing things she wanted, like present masc and fuck women. what a shame he was mysteriously found dead... except she isn't actually lying when she says she didn't land the killing blow. started going by her marital name in gay bars to stick it to her husband, but ended up liking it. friends call her johnny.

andrea (right, age 31) is an absolute mess of a woman. she used to work as a secretary at a police station, but quit dramatically enough to burn a country's worth of bridges when she realised she didn't respect a single person she worked with. one time, bumped into a cop she used to know at a bar and made an embarassingly large bet that, if she became a PI, she would be solving more cases monthly than him by the end of her first year. she lost that bet, and still owes the bastard a lot of money. lives out of her office. can't afford the cool detective noir blinds. started smoking to give off the PI vibe, but the smoking indoors with a window that doesn't open, undignified cheap whiskey, and toothbrush in the bathroom never really made potential clients feel invited. spent a bunch of her savings on tacky branded coasters that she never uses. has had the same go-to business casual outfit since she was 17.

goes without saying, johnson hired andrea to investigate her husbands passing without implicating her, making sure she's still eligible for his inheritance. andrea is, of course, a very moral person, so johnson's offer to pay off her debts in return for overlooking her crimed didn't sway her, but then johnson's chest said "there's a pair of big hairy boobs over here" and that's just the kind of argumentation you can't turn down
